The complaints policy gives Legacy Construction clients a direct process for reporting a concern about their construction project.

Submit the project details and the issue through the listed company contact information so the concern can be reviewed against the agreed work.

The policy describes how to raise and follow up on a complaint; the signed construction agreement and applicable rights remain relevant to the outcome.

This complaints policy explains how to raise a concern about a Legacy Construction project or this website, and what happens after you do. We would rather hear about a problem early, while there is still time to make it right on the job.

How to Raise a Complaint

Contact us directly, and your complaint goes straight to Joe Hausler, our owner.

Phone: (207) 544-4607, answered around the clock Email: joe@legacyconstructionme.com Mail: Legacy Construction, 185 Ridge Rd, Portland, ME 04103

Include your name, the project address and a short description of the concern, with photos if they help. The more specific the description, the faster we can look into it.

What Happens After You Raise a Complaint

  1. We review your concern and contact you about the next steps.
  2. We consider the information you provide and may ask for photos or a site visit.
  3. We discuss the findings and possible next steps with you, guided by the contract and warranty.

Every complaint is handled respectfully and without bias, and we keep you informed while we work on it. If we cannot settle an issue fully to your satisfaction, we explain why and lay out the next steps.

Workmanship and Warranty Concerns

If your concern is about workmanship on a home or project we built, your contract and our written 5-year workmanship warranty set out what we will correct. Bring it to us as soon as you notice it, because a small issue is easier to fix before a season of weather works on it.

How We Resolve Complaints

A resolution might mean correcting work that falls short of what we agreed, clearing up a misunderstanding about scope or cost, or fixing a scheduling problem. We decide what "fixed" means together with you, not on our own.

Record Keeping

We keep a record of each complaint, what we did about it and how it was resolved. Those records help us identify patterns and review how we handle concerns.

If We Cannot Agree

If we cannot resolve a complaint directly, you remain free to use any other option open to you. That includes the Consumer Information and Mediation Service of the Maine Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, the dispute terms in your contract or independent legal advice.

Who This Complaints Policy Covers

This complaints policy covers the work Legacy Construction performs under its own contracts and your use of this website. Questions about a contract term itself are answered by that contract.

Questions Before You File

If something feels off but you are not sure it is a complaint, call anyway. We would rather talk it through early.
